On Tuesday night, the USGS reported that a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Kern County, with its epicenter located in Lamont, California, just a short distance away from Bakersfield.
Several aftershocks followed a 5.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 9:09 pm PT.
Residents in Los Angeles and Orange County experienced the tremors caused by the earthquake.
The main earthquake was followed by over a dozen aftershocks, with two of them measuring 4.5 and 4.1 magnitudes respectively, both occurring in the same area as the main quake.
The USGS has reported that tremors are still occurring in the Grapevine area, located between Santa Clarita and Kern County, north of Los Angeles.
According to KABC7 Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that there have been no reports of any damage in LA County up to this point. Nevertheless, the LA Fire Department is currently in earthquake mode.
