French Bulldog Reunited With Owner After Being Stolen In Southeast Dc

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has confirmed the reunification of a stolen French Bulldog with his owner last Saturday.

A week after being stolen while on a walk with his owner, MPD’s Violent Crimes Suppression Division discovered “Yurman,” a 2-year-old French Bulldog.

On Saturday, about 8 a.m., MPD conducted an operation near Pennsylvania Ave. and Alabama Ave. in Southeast to recover Yurman.

Jaineen Brown, the owner of Yurman, claimed that someone had approached her and offered to sell her dog back.

Brown then went to the cops with the information.

Brown was walking Yurman in the 1700 block of Fort Davis Street SE on June 29, about 8:20 p.m., when someone approached her with a gun.

Brown described the suspect as driving a black Honda Accord away from the area with her dog.

“He’s my emotional support dog. I’m from Akron, Ohio, and I don’t have any family here, so he’s literally everything to me,” she told DC News Now last Saturday.

On Sunday, MPD said it arrested and accused Raphael Lambert Loundermon II, 27, and Khaliah Johnson, 27, both of Southeast D.C., of extortion and receiving stolen property.

MPD is still attempting to identify the robbery suspect. Below is a snapshot of the suspicious vehicle:

Burglars recently targeted French bulldogs throughout the district. In late March, someone stole Recardito, a 4-year-old French Bulldog, from his owner’s automobile. The next day, Recardito reunited with his owner, a reunion Brown had hoped for even in the hours following Yurman’s capture.
