A British Airways service engineer uncovered £100,000 worth of cocaine hidden inside a plane toilet during routine maintenance at Gatwick Airport.
The Boeing aircraft had just arrived from Orlando, Florida, when the stash was discovered behind a panel in the lavatory. The engineer immediately alerted police, prompting an investigation by Border Force and the National Crime Agency.
According to a source, the cocaine was “well hidden” and intended to be collected later. The insider suggested it was likely placed there by someone on staff.
