Wichita Man sentenced to almost three years for attempted kidnapping and child solicitation

Nearly two years ago, Henderson’s arrest occurred when officers were flagged down at Yale and Dunham in southeast Wichita. According to police, a family member notified them that Henderson had approached a group of girls, aged seven to 13, who were walking in the neighborhood. The girls immediately ran home and informed their parents about the incident. Fortunately, none of the girls were harmed.

Henderson was apprehended at the intersection of 31st Street South and K-15. The authorities charged him with three counts of aggravated solicitation of a child, along with additional charges related to existing warrants.

The judge in Sedgwick County District Court ordered that the counts against Henderson should run concurrently.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office explained that the controlling sentence is a total of 34 months with a lifetime post-release.
