Prosecutors have recently alleged that Sean “Diddy” Combs physically abused his personal staff in a letter presented during his latest bail hearing. The letter aims to outline the charges currently faced by the influential mogul.
Diddy has been dealing with legal issues since September when he faced indictment for a range of charges, including sex trafficking. Currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, he maintains his plea of not guilty to these charges.
Diddy made an appearance at a bail hearing at a Manhattan federal court last Friday. If granted bail, his attorneys have proposed several conditions for the mogul, including 24-hour surveillance.
Prosecutors are making efforts to prevent Diddy’s release by accusing him of violating several federal regulations during his time in prison. A letter addressing these allegations has been presented to the judge.
According to the letter, Diddy is facing serious charges. It suggests that he allegedly showed up at a woman’s house and tried to forcefully enter by banging on her door with a hammer.
U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian is currently presiding over the case and is expected to announce his decision on Diddy’s bail proposal this week. The trial for the mogul is set to occur in May 2025.
Combs’ legal team, on the other hand, has described the prosecution’s case as “weak.” They have suggested that he could be set free on a $50 million bail, subject to certain conditions.
Subramanian previously denied a bail proposal for the mogul, which would have allowed him to remain under house arrest at his luxurious private island home on Star Island in Florida. The plan, however, did not include provisions for Diddy to have a boat, and there is only one means of leaving the island.
One alternative suggestion was to confine Diddy to his three-bedroom Upper East Side apartment under house arrest. Several bail proposals were made, suggesting different conditions for the music mogul, including restricting his interactions to his legal team and family. However, Diddy has already faced rejections for several bail proposals.
