According to court documents, a man is facing charges for allegedly shooting and killing another man during a game of dominoes inside a house in Kansas City, Missouri.
In Jackson County Court, Malik Johnson from North Carolina is facing charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Marcus Oldham.
On Saturday evening, a murder took place in the 2700 block of Garfield Avenue.
At approximately 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to the residence in response to reports of a shooting incident.
Oldham was discovered at a table, unresponsive and with gunshot wounds.
During the investigation, detectives had the opportunity to speak with a witness who provided valuable information. According to the witness, Johnson was seen sitting on a window sill next to the table while Oldham engaged in a game of dominoes.
Shortly after, the witness heard two gunshots and claimed to have seen Johnson aiming a revolver at Oldham.
According to their statements, Oldham and Johnson did not have any arguments or other issues.
During a previous conversation, Johnson asked the second witness if they thought he was crazy. This inquiry was prompted by Johnson’s grandmother and mother referring to him as crazy.
Detectives later reached out to an individual from North Carolina who was associated with Johnson.
Johnson had been hearing voices and had become increasingly paranoid in recent months, she informed them.
The man informed the woman that he was under surveillance and that there were individuals attempting to track him down.
