On Thursday morning, a one-vehicle accident in Obion County claimed the life of a Texas man.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Roberto Aguilar, 61, died in the crash at 3:00.
The collision occurred at the 12.2-mile marker on Highway U.S. 51 between Troy and Union City.
According to the Highway Patrol’s preliminary report, Aguilar was driving a 2010 Peterbilt 387 tractor-trailer vehicle when it collided with a bridge guardrail.
The truck then toppled into the creek and burned.
An investigation into potential bridge damage and the recovery of the truck from the creek caused a several-hour diversion of northbound traffic.
