Cause of Death of Kansas Woman Confirmed Following Discovery of Body in Freezer

New information regarding a gruesome murder case is coming to light.

According to court documents cited by CBS, investigators investigating the murders of Jilian Kelley, 39, and Veronica Butler, 27, whose bodies were discovered in an Oklahoma freezer two weeks after they went missing in March, are now concluding that the women were killed to settle a custody dispute with a paternal grandmother.

However, Kelley’s probable cause of death has been established, and the investigation is still ongoing.

A medical examiner’s report obtained by E! News stated that she died from “multiple sharp force trauma,” with homicide listed as the cause of death. Two of the seven incised wounds and nine stab wounds on Kelley’s corpse “were consistent with Mrs. Kelley having attempted to defend herself,” according to the study.

The report went on to say that “the decomposed state of her body limited definitive gross and microscopic confirmation, even though possible stun gun marks were observed on the back on her neck and posterior left shoulder.”
