MPD is currently on the lookout for the person responsible for taking the life of a young father of three at the Corning Village Apartments in Memphis. The unfortunate incident occurred following a deadly argument.
When Joanne Foster thinks about her son, she never imagined he would be taken from her in such a tragic way. The weight of his loss is heavy on her heart, something she wouldn’t wish on anyone.
According to Foster, the tragic incident occurred on Sunday, March 17, right after she had left church. It was her eldest daughter who broke the news to her, screaming in distress on the phone, “Mommy, Dee is dead. Somebody killed Dee.”
Foster recalls, “As soon as I saw the swarm of police, I jumped into my car and rushed to the scene. The reality of the situation hit me hard, and I couldn’t help but scream in shock.” WREG’s cameras captured Foster’s arrival on the scene.
According to the homicide detectives, Jackson was engaged in a heated argument with another man just before the shooting occurred. The perpetrator, identified as Davante Middleton, who is 30 years old, was responsible for the shooting.
According to Foster, Jackson and Middleton had been acquainted since they were kids. Foster emphasized the fact that one should not blindly trust their friends, as they may end up being the ones to take away one’s life. In his words, “You don’t really have friends like you claim to have. Your so-called friends are capable of doing the unthinkable.”
Authorities are currently on the lookout for Davante Middleton and have issued a warrant for his arrest on second-degree murder charges. While the arrest won’t bring back the woman’s son, it will provide her with some sense of closure and peace.
Foster expressed her need for closure, stating that she cannot rest or eat properly. She has even lost weight due to the ongoing situation.
