Woman Stabbed Twice In Random New York Subway Attack

Authorities report that a young woman in her 20s was stabbed multiple times at a subway station in Queens on Sunday evening. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said Monday that the 23-year-old man was stabbed at least twice—in the chest and abdomen—at the Van Wyck and Jamaica Avenue station’s mezzanine area at 8:30 p.m. the night before.

Authorities discovered a knife at the location of the incident.

As of early Monday, police have detained a 24-year-old man for questioning in relation to the case. It remains uncertain whether he is being viewed as a suspect or a witness at this time.

According to the authorities, the perpetrator was not acquainted with the victim.
