Man Wanted In Three States Apprehended During Traffic Stop

A suspect wanted in three states was apprehended following a traffic check, Russellville Police announced Sunday.

Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi wanted Billy Joe Williams for nearly a dozen crimes. The charges included robbery, violence, and exploitation of an old person.

According to Russellville Police, Williams attempted to hide on the passenger floorboards of the vehicle during the traffic stop before fleeing. He was caught shortly afterwards.

Billy Joe Williams faces the following charges:

obstructing justice with a false identity

Forgery, Second Degree

Possession of Controlled Substances (Method)

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Attempting to evade law enforcement

Fugitive from Justice

The police also detained the vehicle’s driver, Tabitha Goins. Police have charged Goins with second-degree obstruction of prosecution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
