A 28-year-old UFC fighter from Sacramento was arrested Saturday on suspicion of engaging in sexual acts with a minor believed to be around 14 years old.

Ahmad Hassanzada, a 6-foot-1 lightweight, turned himself in after a months-long investigation that began in February 2024, according to the Sacramento Police Department. He was scheduled to face 32-year-old Mitch Ramirez on April 26 in Kansas City, as confirmed by an Instagram post and the UFC’s official fight schedule, marking his debut in the Octagon.

Hassanzada was booked into the  Sacramento County Main Jail around 2 p.m. Saturday. According to jail records, he faces two felony charges: one for committing a lewd act with a child under 14, and another for a lewd act involving a child aged 14 or 15, with the defendant being more than 10 years older. Police confirmed there is at least one known victim.

His bail is set at $400,000. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento County Superior Court.
