A 28-year-old UFC fighter from Sacramento was arrested Saturday on suspicion of engaging in sexual acts with a minor believed to be around 14 years old.
Ahmad Hassanzada, a 6-foot-1 lightweight, turned himself in after a months-long investigation that began in February 2024, according to the Sacramento Police Department. He was scheduled to face 32-year-old Mitch Ramirez on April 26 in Kansas City, as confirmed by an Instagram post and the UFC’s official fight schedule, marking his debut in the Octagon.
A member of Team Alpha Male, Hassanzada trains at Urijah Faber’s Ultimate Fitness gym in Sacramento.  ABC10 reached out to the team for a statement and will update the story if they respond.
Hassanzada was booked into the  Sacramento County Main Jail around 2 p.m. Saturday. According to jail records, he faces two felony charges: one for committing a lewd act with a child under 14, and another for a lewd act involving a child aged 14 or 15, with the defendant being more than 10 years older. Police confirmed there is at least one known victim.
His bail is set at $400,000. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento County Superior Court.
