A 42-year-old Florida stepfather faces serious charges after allegedly punishing his 10-year-old stepdaughter by pressing her hand onto a hot stove, leaving a visible coil mark on her skin. Authorities arrested Georgy Almony on Monday and charged him with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm, according to court records reviewed by Law&Crime.

The girl’s mother, 36-year-old Milliene Adeclat, was also arrested. Investigators say she knew about the incident but failed to report it. She now faces charges of child neglect causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer for allegedly hitting and pushing officers during her arrest.

As reported by WSVN,  (Miami Fox affiliate), the abuse happened on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the family’s home in Biscayne Gardens, an unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County. At the time, the mother was at work, and the children were home with Almony.

Almony allegedly became furious when the girl pushed her brother. According to WPLG (Miami ABC affiliate), he grabbed her arm and “dragged her into the kitchen.” He then “placed her hand on the stove top oven, burning her hand, causing injuries,” police wrote in the probable cause affidavit.

The report noted, “the victim’s skin came off where she was burned,” and a burn mark from the stove coil was clearly visible on her hand.

WPLG stated that the girl screamed in pain, grabbed Almony’s cellphone, ran to her room, and called her mother to report the abuse. Despite learning what happened, Adeclat allegedly took no action.

The situation came to light when the girl returned to school on Monday. A teacher noticed the burn and contacted the authorities.

Both Almony and Adeclat were taken to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Intracoastal Station for questioning. Police say neither provided helpful information—Almony refused to speak, while Adeclat denied the allegations.

They were booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Adeclat was released after posting a $1,500 bond, and Almony posted $7,500. Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 14, according to online records.
