The bust happened Sunday after CBP officers directed a woman driving a Dodge pickup truck to secondary inspection.

A non-intrusive inspection system scan, along with canine officers, helped uncover nearly 1,149 pounds of liquid methamphetamine concealed inside an external fuel tank, CBP said in a statement Thursday.

The seized drugs carry a street value of $10.5 million, according to CBP.

“Our frontline CBP officers maintained strict vigilance, utilized high tech tools and took down a significant amount of liquid methamphetamine,” Eagle Pass Port Director Pete Beattie said. “Seizures like these illustrate perfectly CBP’s ongoing commitment to upholding CBP’s border security mission and protecting our communities.”
