A report reveals that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) received approval from President Donald Trum’s Justice Department to access an online system containing highly sensitive immigration case data — including names, addresses, and records of immigrant interactions with law enforcement.
According to documents obtained by The Washington Post, Musk’s so-called “major reform” initiative was granted access to the Executive Office for Immigration Review’s Courts and Appeals System (ECAS) by senior DOJ officials after DOGE “advisors” requested permission.
Reports indicate DOJ staff were informed that DOGE would comb through ECAS accounts in collaboration with a private equity firm tied to Musk and several of its members. At least six DOGE “advisors” have been granted access, the Post said.
