A Florida stepfather, 42-year-old Georgy Almony, was arrested this week after allegedly punishing his 10-year-old stepdaughter by forcing her hand onto a hot stove. Authorities reported that the burn was so severe they could see the impression of the burner coil on the girl’s skin. Almony was arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm, according to court records.
The victim’s mother, 36-year-old Milliene Adeclat, was also arrested after learning of the abuse but failing to report it. She faces charges of child neglect causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer after allegedly resisting arrest by pushing and punching police officers.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the family’s home in Biscayne Gardens, Florida, while Adeclat was at work. Almony reportedly became angry with the victim for pushing her brother and decided to punish her by dragging her into the kitchen. He then allegedly pressed her hand onto the hot stove, causing severe burns.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim’s skin was severely damaged, and there was a visible burn mark in the shape of the stove coil. After the child screamed in pain, she ran to her bedroom, grabbed Almony’s cellphone, and called her mother to report the incident. Despite this, Adeclat did not take any immediate action to address the abuse.
The situation was only reported to authorities after a teacher at the victim’s school noticed the injury on Monday and contacted the police.
Both Almony and Adeclat were arrested and taken to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Intracoastal Station for questioning, but neither provided useful information. Almony refused to speak with investigators, while Adeclat denied all allegations. They were both taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where Adeclat was released after posting a $1,500 bond, and Almony was released on a $7,500 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 14, according to online records.
