A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot while allegedly breaking into dozens of cars in a Kansas City neighborhood.
According to Kansas City police, emergency crews responded around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, to a report of a shooting near 19th and Cleveland Ave.
Investigators said the man who called in the shooting matched the description of a suspect involved in breaking into about 30 vehicles near 27th and Askew.
Officers say the man was confronted by one of the victims of the break-ins, who then shot him. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released any names, arrests, or potential charges.
