New York State Police uncovered a major meth lab operation that was hidden in plain sight—right beside a small-town church in Schuyler County. Authorities arrested a known felon following a raid last week.

On April 3, members of the State Police Troop E Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, supported by the Uniform Force and Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team West, executed a search warrant at 2665 Church Road in the town of Reading. The home sits directly next to the Reading Community Church, according to Google Maps.

During the search, troopers arrested 44-year-old Jeremy Wright, a convicted felon, on multiple charges tied to drug production and distribution.

Charges Filed:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (A-II Felony)

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd – Intent to Sell (B Felony)

  • Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine 3rd Degree (D Felony)

Items Seized:

  • ~1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine

  • ~3 ounces of suspected methamphetamine oil

  • ~2 gallons of methamphetamine oil

  • ~1/8 ounce of psilocybin mushrooms

  • ~300 pseudoephedrine pills

  • Digital scales and packaging materials

  • One antique pistol

  • Lab equipment, solvents, and chemical reagents used in meth production

Police described the setup as reminiscent of something from Breaking Bad, hidden in an otherwise quiet corner of Upstate New York.
