U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Tuesday that 26-year-old Nader Ngoopos, also known as “Nike,” received a decade-long sentence for multiple drug and firearm-related offenses. U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. issued the ruling.

Ngoopos admitted to conspiring to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine and more than 100 grams of heroin, possessing a firearm during a violent crime, and being a felon in possession of a gun and ammunition.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Evan K. Glaberson said that between 2016 and late 2018, Ngoopos and others transported cocaine and heroin from Buffalo to Olean, New York. He made weekly trips, distributing drugs at North 8th Street and South 11th Street locations. Co-conspirators were also involved in frequent sales.

One major offense occurred on October 15, 2018, during an armed robbery at St. Bonaventure University. Prosecutors said Ngoopos and two others forced their way into a dorm room in search of marijuana and cash. Armed with guns, they pointed their weapons at two people inside and stole an ounce of marijuana and around $300 to $400.

On September 2, 2021, Ngoopos led police on a high-speed chase in Buffalo. After stopping on East Amherst Street, he fled on foot and tossed a pistol while running. He was prohibited from having firearms due to a previous felony conviction in Cattaraugus County in June 2020.

The case resulted from a multi-agency investigation involving the FBI, Olean Police, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo Police, and Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
