A Kansas City teen has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for her involvement in a double homicide that occurred in south Kansas City last December.
On Monday, 19-year-old Linda Ater received the sentence after being identified by SAVE KC as high-risk for violence.
Ater was handed 18 years for second-degree murder and 15 years for unlawful use of a weapon—both to be served concurrently. She also received an additional three-year sentence for armed criminal action, which will run consecutively.
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were called to the 6000 block of Blue Hills Road on Dec. 9, 2024, where they discovered a man in a car’s driver seat and a woman lying on the ground—both fatally shot
