It is crucial for drivers to adjust their driving habits and exercise caution when faced with such conditions. A Kansas couple was found dead after being hidden from view of the road for 18 hours following a crash in a winter storm.

Nathaniel Boyd, 24, tragically lost his life alongside his girlfriend, Whitney Allmond, 26, in a devastating accident. Boyd, who had taken on the role of a father figure to Allmond’s two children, was on his way to pick her up from work. It was around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday when they were driving southbound on Interstate 235 and unintentionally drove up on an embankment. The impact caused them to be ejected from the car, resulting in their untimely demise.

According to reports, neither Boyd nor Allmond had been wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. It was revealed that the police received a 911 call approximately 18 hours after the crash, around 6:20 p.m., as stated by ABC affiliate KAKE.

According to family members, Allmond was known for her strong work ethic, holding down two jobs to support her two young children, aged 4 and 2. They also revealed that she would have celebrated her 27th birthday on Wednesday if she had survived. Boyd’s mother spoke highly of her son, describing him as one of the most incredible individuals she had ever encountered.

According to Boyd’s mother, he had a deep care for his loved ones and had a special affection for Allmond’s children. It is made more challenging by the fact that he did not have life insurance. To ensure some financial stability for the kids and cover the costs of the funeral, both families have established a GoFundMe campaign.

“On Sunday, January 5th, we were hit with the heartbreaking news of Nathaniel Boyd, my brother’s best friend, passing away in a tragic car accident,” stated the fundraiser organized in memory of Boyd. “The unexpected loss has left us all shattered and in desperate need of support.”

“I am assisting Kerri, Nate’s mom, in creating the GoFundMe campaign,” the description stated. “The funds raised will be used to cover the expenses of the funeral.” The individual who initiated the fundraiser expressed that Boyd was like a third sibling to them. As of Tuesday, the campaign had generated $2,535, which is a significant step towards its $6,000 target.”

“We intend to utilize the funds raised to cover the funeral costs, and any remaining amount will be provided to her two children to offer them additional assistance,” the statement mentioned. “The grandparents will be responsible for raising the infants and will require substantial support to ensure their well-being. We appreciate your generosity and wish you safety during these challenging weather conditions.” As of Tuesday, the GoFundMe campaign for Allmond had garnered $11,240 out of the $17,000 goal.
