Two teenagers have been taken into custody in relation to the armed robbery incident that occurred at the Hutchinson Mall in December.

On Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, police received a call regarding an armed robbery at Selectel Wireless in the Hutchinson Mall. Officers were dispatched to the scene just before 5 p.m.

An unidentified man walked into the store, displaying a dark-colored handgun, and demanded money and electronic items from the store clerk, as reported by the Hutchinson Police Department. The perpetrator made away with an undisclosed sum of money and several electronic items.

On Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, the HPD detectives took two males from Hutchinson into custody. A 19-year-old and a 17-year-old were apprehended on charges of armed robbery and theft.

Three people are being held in custody following a standoff in west Wichita.

KSN refrains from disclosing the identities of individuals suspected of being involved in a crime unless official charges have been filed.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to HPD.
