Law enforcement officials are currently investigating a suspect who is facing multiple allegations following a drug bust at a residence in Kansas. Disturbingly, this home was also the residence of two young children.

According to Montgomery County Sheriff Ron Wade, deputies were conducting surveillance at a residence located at 601 E. Edison in Independence. During their surveillance, they noticed activity that led to a vehicle stop conducted by the Independence Police Department.

Bobbie Austin Jr., a 59-year-old driver from Independence, was apprehended after being discovered with more than 7 pounds of suspected marijuana. Following the collection of evidence, law enforcement officials obtained a search warrant for 601 E. Edison.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Independence Police Department, and Kansas Bureau of Investigations carried out the warrant, leading to the discovery of several individuals at the residence. Among them were Clifford Craft, 65 years old; Dylan Craft, 34 years old; Tabitha Parks, 41 years old; and Chase Vankirk, 25 years old, all of Independence, Kansas.

During the search of the residence, law enforcement officers discovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and various pills. Additionally, two juveniles, aged six and four, were also present at the time.

The police took custody of the juveniles, while all the adults were arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections. Charges suggested for the adults are as follows:

Bobbie Austin Jr has been incarcerated on charges of distributing marijuana (450 grams to 30 kilograms).

Clifford Craft has been arrested on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of depressants, and aggravated child endangerment.

Dylan Craft was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, and aggravated child endangerment.

Tabitha Parks is currently in jail due to charges filed against her for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chase Vankirk is currently in jail on charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with a law enforcement officer.

According to Sheriff Wade, the investigation is still ongoing and there may be additional charges recommended.
