Kansas State Senator Kenny Titus, a Republican from Manhattan, has introduced a bill aiming to exempt Kansas from Daylight Savings Time.

The federal level has been actively discussing the issue of Daylight Savings, with numerous bills being filed to exempt the United States from this practice or make it permanent. In fact, back in the mid-1970s, the US attempted to establish permanent DST, but public backlash resulted in its reversal after just two years.

Titus’ bill, if approved, would result in the state being exempted from changing its clocks on the first Sunday of November, effectively disregarding the time change.

Titus expressed that people are fatigued with the practice of adjusting their clocks twice a year. He believes that this antiquated system lacks logical reasoning and is in need of a change.
