SAN LUIS, Ariz. – A remarkable discovery was made at the U.S.-Mexico border in San Luis, thanks to the assistance of a drone. The drone played a crucial role in uncovering a tunnel that was being constructed beneath the surface.

Customs and Border Protection, in collaboration with the Secretariat of Public Security in Sonora, successfully located and shut down the tunnel.

The San Luis Secretariat of Public Security made a post about the discovery on the day following Christmas.

Mexican authorities have reported that this marks the third drug tunnel found south of Yuma in the current year.

In 2020, authorities were elated when they discovered what they called the “most advanced tunnel in U.S. history.”

The San Luis area also revealed the presence of it.

In 2018, a tunnel was unearthed connecting a residence in Mexico to an abandoned KFC restaurant in San Luis. The Secretariat of Public Security of Sonora is the source of this information.
