Suspect apprehended after woman discovered dead in Kansas City apartment

A woman was discovered dead in a Kansas City apartment early Thursday morning, and the police are conducting an ongoing investigation. Currently, one man is in custody in connection with the incident.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department received a welfare check request at around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26. Emergency crews promptly responded to the call, which originated from the vicinity of E. 134th Ave. near the Forest Ridge Villas.

On Thursday night, law enforcement authorities officially identified the woman who tragically lost her life as Tiffany Chrisman, aged 39.

According to investigators, a woman was found to have been engaged in a physical altercation with a man. Thanks to the assistance of neighbors, the authorities were able to swiftly locate and apprehend the suspect. It is confirmed that there are no other suspects being sought.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), they suspect that this incident may be related to domestic violence.
