Police in Salina are currently investigating an alleged case of aggravated battery, which has resulted in the arrest of Julio Trejo-Anchondo.
According to a media release, police investigated Julio Trejo-Anchondo, a 30-year-old, in the 1100 block of West Republic in Salina just before 7 p.m. on December 19. Trejo-Anchondo was trying to discipline a seven-year-old child when he struck them in the head.
The child accidentally bumped their head against a table, resulting in a small cut. Trejo-Anchondo didn’t rush to seek medical attention for the child. Instead, the following day, another family member took the child to Salina Regional Health Center, where they received treatment and had a few stitches.
Trejo-Anchondo was taken into custody on December 20th after being charged with aggravated battery and endangerment of a child for neglecting to provide medical care. He was subsequently placed in the Saline County jail.
