According to court documents, a man who allegedly used counterfeit bills at various Kansas City-area stores is claiming that it was all part of a secret shopper job.
Rishon Harrell faces charges of theft.
He was arrested on December 12th near the Walmart on North Boardwalk Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to court documents, the loss prevention officer at the store immediately identified Harrell and promptly informed off-duty police officers who were present at the store.
A Kansas City teenager was tragically killed while attending a birthday party, according to the family.
The loss prevention officer immediately recognized Harrell when she saw him at the store, as she remembered an incident involving him on October 20th. According to court documents, Harrell and another individual used counterfeit $50 bills to purchase the following items:

According to a probable cause statement, the two men allegedly stole $900 in cash from the store. They accomplished this by approaching a cashier and requesting to have counterfeit $50 bills exchanged for smaller denominations.
According to a recent report, Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been diagnosed with a “mild high-ankle sprain.”
According to the document, the loss prevention officer holds the belief that Harrell and the other man are accountable for a minimum of 31 additional similar crimes at Walmart stores in Kansas and Missouri.
Harrell was apprehended by police officers on December 12th as he attempted to flee the store. Meanwhile, the second individual managed to escape in a vehicle bearing a Colorado license plate and remains at large.
Detectives approached Harrell regarding the incident, and he stated that the other individual had employed him as a secret shopper for Walmart. According to Harrell, he was receiving payment off the books since the other person required immediate cash.
According to court records, Harrell has been mentioned in nine Kansas City police reports for various offenses, including stealing, domestic violence, assault, disorderly conduct, and strong-armed robbery.
