Garden City man arrested after overnight burglary

A Garden City man, 30-year-old Chance Wallace, was arrested early Monday morning after being caught in the act of auto burglary and attempting to flee from police. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of North 8th Street around 1:30 AM, where they observed Wallace rummaging through a vehicle.

When officers arrived, Wallace ran but was quickly apprehended after a brief foot chase. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Finney County Jail on charges of Auto Burglary, Interference with Law Enforcement, Possession of Stimulants, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police are reminding the public to secure their vehicles by locking them, removing valuables or hiding them, and parking in well-lit areas or garages. Suspicious activity should be reported to authorities.
