Kansas Man Faces Arrest Warrant for Armed Robbery During Facebook Marketplace Deal

A warrant has been issued for a Kansas man accused of robbing a victim at gunpoint during a Facebook Marketplace transaction in Missouri.

William Ramsey, 23, from Fort Riley, Kansas, is charged in connection with the robbery that occurred in Grandview, Missouri, on April 30, 2024. According to Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court documents, Ramsey arranged a meeting with the victim through Facebook Marketplace to buy a $2,000 item. However, when they met at a local parking lot, Ramsey allegedly pulled out a firearm, threatened the victim, and stole the item without paying.

The Grandview Police Department ‘s probable cause statement highlights that Ramsey has since been spotted on Facebook using the stolen item, leading authorities to issue an arrest warrant on December 4. The warrant includes a $25,000 bond, and Ramsey is facing charges of robbery and armed criminal action, which could lead to a prison sentence of up to 45 years if convicted.

As of December 7, Ramsey remains at large, and no further details have been disclosed by law enforcement.
