A Kansas driver suffered severe injuries in a rollover collision on I-29 in Missouri, just north of Platte City.

Around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, emergency crews received a call about a single-vehicle collision in the vicinity of southbound I-29 and County Road U, approximately 6 miles north of Platte City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol .

According to the first responders, they discovered an incident involving a 56-year-old man from Admire, Kansas. The man was driving a 2004 Lexus ES330 south on the interstate when, for reasons unknown, he unexpectedly deviated from the right side of the road.

State Troopers reported that the car collided with a ditch, resulting in it rolling over before ultimately returning to the roadway. The driver, who had the presence of mind to wear his seatbelt, was promptly transported to North Kansas City Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

The collision resulted in the Lexus being completely destroyed, according to investigators. However, no additional details have been provided at this time.
