Electioneering charge filed against spouse of recently elected Sedgwick County Commissioner

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office revealed on Tuesday that Meghan Blubaugh, the wife of recently elected Sedgwick County Commissioner Jeff Blubaugh, has been charged with electioneering.

On October 29, Meghan Blubaugh was charged by the district attorney’s office for unlawfully and knowingly attempting to persuade or influence eligible voters at a polling place.

Engaging in electioneering is considered a class A misdemeanor. This offense encompasses actions such as wearing, displaying, or distributing labels, signs, posters, stickers, or any other materials that clearly identify a candidate.

Meghan Blubaugh’s first court appearance is set for December 17th.
