Authorities announced on Monday that a 19-year-old individual has been charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting his pregnant girlfriend in Lansdowne, Delaware County over the weekend.

According to a Facebook post by Chief Ken Rutherford of the Lansdowne Police Department, Kaiheem Jerelle Williams, who was 19 years old at the time, has been charged with murder in relation to the unfortunate death of his girlfriend, who was approximately eight months pregnant.

During that time, Rutherford mentioned that Williams and his girlfriend were living together at the same time.

According to a statement by Rutherford, the arrest of Kaiheem Williams reflects the unwavering determination of the officers and CID Detectives. The efforts of these individuals are greatly valued and have made significant progress towards achieving justice for the victim and her family.

According to the police, the tragic shooting occurred on Friday in the 200 block of North Wycombe Avenue in Lansdowne. Authorities have confirmed that the pregnant woman lost her life at the scene.

Last week, the police informed that the woman’s baby had been born at the hospital. They described the baby’s condition as critical.

The Lansdowne Police Department and the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office conducted an investigation into the incident.
