Kansas City Man Sentenced to 20 Years for 2020 Palmyra Robbery

A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his involvement in a 2020 robbery in Palmyra, Missouri, along with other related charges. Jeffrey Shannon Stulgate, 31, of Junction City, Kansas, was sentenced on November 13, 2024, in the Circuit Court of Randolph County.

Stulgate pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, tampering with a vehicle, and resisting arrest by fleeing. The Honorable Judge Scott Hayes presided over the case.

Stulgate was sentenced to 20 years for the robbery, four years for resisting arrest, and an additional four years for tampering with the vehicle. These sentences will be served concurrently. According to court documents, Stulgate forcibly stole a vehicle from a male victim on July 14, 2020, threatening the use of a dangerous weapon and operating the vehicle without consent. He also fled from law enforcement officers attempting to stop him.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol both looked into the case. Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Luke Bryant handled the prosecution, with Victim Advocate Lori Flynn supporting the case.
