In a significant law enforcement operation, the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) has announced the arrest of 33 individuals during a city-wide sweep aimed at high-priority suspects with outstanding warrants. Among those arrested was a suspect connected to a shooting outside North Kansas City High School following a basketball game in March. Two brothers had been indicted in connection with the incident.
The sting also led to the capture of a fentanyl dealer, whose drugs were linked to a fatal overdose. Authorities recovered five handguns, along with illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, and PCP. This operation involved a multi-agency effort, including collaboration with the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and the IRS.
The investigation is ongoing, and KCTV5 will continue to provide updates as more details emerge.
