Female suspect accused of stealing from now-defunct business at Country Club Plaza

About the theft of hundreds of dollars worth of goods from a since-closed company in Country Club Plaza, one lady has been accused.

According to documents submitted to the Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court on Friday, November 8, Tiara L. Arther, 29, of Kansas City, has been accused of stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of North Face merchandise from a now-closed company located in the Country Club Plaza.

According to court documents, on November 2, 2023, Arther allegedly threatened a Moosejaw employee with a rifle while she took around $750 worth of North Face merchandise. At the time, the company was situated on the Country Club Plaza at 439 W. 47th St.

Arther has thus been accused of stealing, armed criminal activity, and harassment. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 26 years in prison and a fine of $20,000. She does not appear to be in custody, and an arrest warrant has not yet been issued. On December 20, a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 10 a.m.
