Documents reveal Dr. Fauci received $15M in security funding after leaving office

Dr. Anthony Fauci received $15 million in taxpayer-funded security after leaving public office, according to a recent report.

Newly acquired documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act by ‘Open the Books’, have unveiled an agreement between the Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Marshals Service.

From January 2023 until this September, the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director was provided with a comprehensive security detail, a chauffeur, and various protective services by marshals.

Security experts speculate that Dr. Fauci likely availed himself of these security services due to the persistent death threats and harassment he has faced in connection with his role in America’s COVID-19 response.

Dr. Fauci himself has acknowledged that public accusations linking him to pandemic deaths and policies often result in an uptick in threats against him. He describes it as a recurring pattern that intensifies when critics in Congress or the media hold him responsible for COVID-19 losses.

However, there are concerns regarding the extent to which taxpayers should fund this level of protection. The U.S. Marshals Service, responsible for safeguarding judges and witnesses, has recently faced budget constraints that hinder its ability to fulfill its crucial obligations. Moreover, other prominent individuals have encountered difficulties in obtaining comparable levels of security.

During his presidential campaign this year, Robert F. Kennedy Junior had to spend millions on private security. This was necessary because the Secret Service denied him protection on multiple occasions.

Critics argue that there is a double standard at play here, as Dr. Fauci’s security expenses have remained intact, while the Marshals Service has sought an additional $28 million to fulfill its primary obligations.

As of now, HHS and the U.S. Marshals have not provided any response regarding the continuation of Fauci’s security.
