A Registered Nurse in Kansas City is facing charges after suspicions arose that she may have falsified her credentials, according to reports.
A recent court filing on Thursday, Nov. 7, in Jackson County, Missouri, has brought to light the charges against Breanna N. Royston, a 32-year-old resident of Lee’s Summit. She has been accused of engaging in the unlicensed practice of nursing.
Between September 24, 2022, and October 17, 2022, Royston worked as a Registered Nurse with an area healthcare provider using falsified documents, according to a public grand jury indictment filed in Independence.
According to court records, Royston is facing charges for fraudulently using nursing credentials. If convicted, she could potentially be sentenced to 1 to 4 years in prison and fined up to $10,000.
According to court records, Royster has been issued a criminal summons on Friday. As of now, she is not in custody. An arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m. No additional details have been disclosed at this time.
