Woman faces charges for stealing from defunct Country Club Plaza business

A woman has been charged in connection with the theft of several hundred dollars’ worth of items from a business on the Country Club Plaza that has since closed, according to KCTV.

Tiara L. Arther, a 29-year-old resident of Kansas City, has recently been charged in connection with the theft of several hundred dollars worth of North Face items from a business that is no longer operating on the Country Club Plaza. This information was revealed through documents filed with the  Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court on Friday, November 8.

According to court records, on November 2, 2023, Arther was accused of holding a Moosejaw employee at gunpoint while stealing approximately $750 worth of North Face items. The incident took place at 439 W. 47th St. on the Country Club Plaza.

Arther may face severe consequences as she has been accused of harassment, armed criminal action, and stealing. If proven guilty, she could potentially be sentenced to 26 years in prison and required to pay a fine of $20,000. However, it is important to note that no arrest warrant has been issued for her, and she is currently not in custody. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for December 20th at 10 a.m.
