Arrest made in Saturday evening homicide on Garfield Ave.

A homicide occurred today, November 9, in the 2700 block of Garfield Avenue, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

At 6 p.m., KCPD received a report of a shooting at a residence in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered several individuals present and discovered an adult man inside the residence who had been shot.

The police have identified the victim as Marcus J. Oldham, a 27-year-old man.

Afterward, officers allegedly requested the presence of EMS personnel, who pronounced the victim deceased at the location.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), they have detained one of the individuals present at the scene as a subject of interest. Detectives have stated that there is no current search for any additional suspects.
