Truck Driver Tragically Killed by His Own 18-Wheeler in Darby Township

 A 68-year-old driver from Rosedale, New York, was fatally run over by his own 18-wheeler late Wednesday night while attempting to secure the vehicle at an industrial park on Calcon Hook Road. The incident took place around 11:45 p.m. as the driver was closing the truck’s rear door after loading 11,000 pounds of cargo.

According to Darby Township Police Chief Michael Sousa, the driver noticed the truck rolling forward and attempted to reach the cab to engage the brakes. Tragically, he tripped and fell, and the trailer rolled over him. His wife, who was resting in the cab, witnessed the tragic accident.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gain more details about the incident.
