Two individuals in Garden City arrested on drug charges

Two individuals were arrested on drug charges by the Garden City Police after a thorough investigation on Saturday night.

Meghan Leens, 41, and Efraim Garcia-Mendoza, 38, are facing charges as a result of the investigation, as stated in the GCPD release.

At around 10 p.m. on Saturday, law enforcement officers initiated a traffic stop at Quicker Market located at 4005 E. Highway 50. During the stop, they interacted with Leens and Garcia-Mendoza. After thorough investigation, K9 Koda was called in to sniff the vehicle and detected the presence of narcotics. As a result, a comprehensive search of the vehicle was conducted, revealing more than a pound of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl-laced pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Leens and Garcia-Mendoza were apprehended and detained in the Finney County Jail on charges of possessing methamphetamine with the intention to distribute, distributing controlled substances, possessing drug paraphernalia, and various other drug-related offenses.

The individuals implicated in the case have not been proven guilty of any wrongdoing and are considered innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law. It is essential to uphold the principle of innocence until proven guilty, and this presumption remains in effect until a verdict is reached.
