Police report tragic deaths of mother and two children who fell over safety rail at Niagara Falls

Tragedy struck as a mother and her children lost their lives while crossing a safety guard rail at Niagara Falls, according to authorities in New York.

According to New York State Police, the incident took place on Monday night around 9 p.m. James O’Callaghan, a New York State Trooper, stated that witnesses saw people entering the Falls.

According to law enforcement, a 33-year-old woman named Chianti Means, accompanied by her son and daughter, disregarded a safety guard rail and ventured onto Luna Island where they ultimately went over the Falls.

According to a press release by the New York State Police on Wednesday, it has been concluded that the incident was intentional in nature, although the circumstances surrounding it are still being investigated.

Despite their best efforts, the police were unable to find and rescue the missing individual.

Police have identified the children as 9-year-old Roman Rossman and 5-month-old Mecca Means. According to authorities, the family hailed from the Niagara Falls area.

According to O’Callaghan, investigators spent several days trying to unravel the details of what possibly transpired.

According to the official, Luna Falls, which is located on Goat Island between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, has a variety of strong security measures.

“We have gathered enough information to confirm that it was indeed an intentional act. However, determining the motive behind it is a more challenging task,” stated O’Callaghan.
