Feds: Convicted Murder Suspects From Waldorf Face Life In Prison For Robbery Spree In Maryland And Virginia

A federal jury found Thaddeus Lamont Wills, 51, and Keionta Shawn Hagens, 44, both of Waldorf, guilty following a nine-day trial.

The pair’s terror spree began in November 2020, when a group robbed a business employee before stealing their victim’s 2016 Dodge Ram.

Days later, the same crew drove a stolen Ford F-150 to steal a second shop of cash and merchandise, with Wills and Hagens zip-tying the employee’s hands, according to prosecutors.

The two then hid the stolen pickup vehicles near Brandywine.

According to court filings, the couple forcefully grabbed a Honda Pilot SUV and used it to travel from Maryland into Virginia, where they robbed clients, agents, and workers of a third business.

They then returned to Maryland and destroyed the stolen Honda.

Less than two weeks later, they ended their spree by robbing their eighth victim at the fourth shop, killing the owner, John Woo Young Jang.

After the robbery and murder, Wills used a gun to steal a Lexus RX350 SUV from another victim before being apprehended and charged.

Wills and Hagens faced convictions for the following offenses:

    • Murder;
    • Interstate commerce by robbery;
    • Conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery;
    • Using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence;
    • Carjacking.

The sentencing for both individuals is set for February.
