Silver Alert Called Off After 83-year-old Man Located Safe

The Indiana State Police have called off the statewide Silver Alert for an 83-year-old man who went missing after they successfully located him.

The Marion Police Department made an update on their Facebook post, confirming that Merrill Andrews had been found just before 12 p.m. on Monday. The department expressed their gratitude to the community for their assistance in locating Merrill.

Andrews, a man with dementia and diabetes, left his care home in Marion early Sunday morning. Police were deeply concerned for his safety.

The Indiana State Police have issued a Silver Alert for an 83-year-old man who is currently missing from Marion.

Merrill Andrews was last seen at 4 a.m. on Sunday when he left Northwood Manor, a care home located in Marion, which is situated 85 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

According to the Marion Police Department, Andrews is in need of medical attention as he suffers from dementia and diabetes.

At the time of his disappearance, Andrews was dressed in a blue puffy coat, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and a tan baseball cap.
