Indiana Man Traveled to Warren County Multiple Times

Police detained a 25-year-old man from Indiana on Tuesday, and he now faces 27 counts after reportedly traveling to Upstate New York for an extended period of time to meet with a 14-year-old girl.

Authorities say they arrested Tyler Harmon, 25, of Warsaw, Indiana, after an eight-month investigation by the Indiana State Police and the New York State Police.

27 Charges for Sexually Motivated Felony and Rape.

According to authorities, Harmon, the alleged sexual predator, reportedly traveled from Indiana to Warren County, New York, on multiple occasions over the course of a year, making an 11-hour drive each time. It is alleged that his purpose for these trips was to engage in unlawful sexual activities with a minor.

On Tuesday, Harmon, shown in the picture below, was arrested on 27 charges. These charges include sexually motivated felonies and rape.

How Did Harmon Meet the Girl?

Harmon reportedly reached out to a 14-year-old girl using social media platforms like Omegle and Snapchat.

Omegle, which ceased operations in 2023, was a popular online chat service that provided users with the opportunity to socialize without the need for registration. The service would randomly match users in individual chat sessions, allowing them to engage in anonymous conversations.

Snapchat is an app and service that allows users to send pictures and messages that are only available for a short period of time. Initially, the app was primarily used for person-to-person photo sharing, but it has since expanded to include “Stories.”

According to police, the man was arrested at his Warsaw residence on Tuesday around 10:30 a.m.
