Police have detained two suspects in connection with a shooting that killed one man in a foot locker near The Shops at Iverson late Thursday afternoon.
Andres Rodriguez-Corona, 19, of Waldorf, Maryland, and Carl Sanders, 22, of Washington, D.C., are the suspects. Dominique Hodge, 24, of Washington, D.C., is the victim of their murderous charges.
According to authorities, the third suspect is still at large.
Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the third suspect in this incident.
Officers responded to a gunshot incident at Foot Locker, located in the 3700 block of Branch Avenue. Officers found the man with several gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim was shopping in the store at the time. There were no injuries to any other customers or personnel.
According to authorities, three individuals who matched the suspects’ descriptions were walking about a half-mile from the site. When the officer urged them to stop, they started running. The officer managed to detain Rodriguez-Corona. The suspect had a firearm on him.
Around 11:25 p.m., police apprehended Sanders following a traffic stop near 28th Avenue and St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills. The truck contained two ghost weapons with missing serial numbers.
Prince George’s County police believe the suspects targeted the victim within the business. We are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
Rodriguez-Corona faces first- and second-degree murder accusations, as well as other offenses. Sanders is accused of many gun violations. Both suspects are in custody.
