Woman charged with theft of eyeglass frames valued at $5k

A woman from Memphis is facing the prospect of going to jail following allegations by Paragould police that she stole eyeglass frames worth thousands of dollars.

On September 3rd, Camille L. Martin, 40, along with an unidentified co-defendant, entered the Walmart Vision Center located at 2802 W. Kingshighway, as stated by investigators.

Surveillance footage from the store revealed that the two individuals were seen hiding numerous eyeglass frames, which were valued at over $5,000, before exiting the premises.

Detective Sergeant Jacob Higdon revealed that the defendants were found to be linked to eyeglass frame thefts in various other jurisdictions in Arkansas and Tennessee.

On September 25, Martin was arrested by Greene County District Court Judge Daniel Stidham on charges of theft of property and breaking or entering.

Martin was taken into custody on Monday, October 7th, and subsequently incarcerated at the Greene County Detention Center. She is currently awaiting her initial court appearance, as stated by online jail records.
