A man’s body was discovered loaded down with stones in the Hudson River near Riverside Park last week.
Law authorities told the New York Post that the body was recovered in the Hudson River at the closed Boat Basin marina at West 79th Street and Riverside Drive in the early hours of September 30.
We observed Harbor Patrol personnel loading the deceased into a 45-foot police boat. After that, they unloaded it onto a marina floating dock. Officers from the Emergency Service Unit then placed it in a body bag and transported it to the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office.
It was unclear whether the deceased man had undergone any physical trauma prior to his discovery in the Hudson River. However, The Daily News later reported that the discovery of the man’s body in the Hudson River revealed a sack covering his head. The front of his belt had additional boulders attached to it.
An NYPD spokesperson confirmed that they recovered a male body from the Hudson River. An investigation is now underway to determine what transpired.
