FEMA announces public notice for North Carolina

A notice informing the public about the availability of FEMA assistance and proposed FEMA-funded actions has been published in Raleigh. The notice includes information about activities that could potentially impact historic properties, threatened and endangered species, critical habitat, as well as wetlands and floodplains in North Carolina.

FEMA is legally obligated to notify the public of its intention to offer federal assistance and grant opportunities through the Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs, following the declaration of a major disaster for Tropical Storm Helene.

FEMA has made a public notice regarding the disaster on their website at https://www.fema.gov/disaster-federal-register-notice/dr-4827-nc-public-notice. The North Carolina Division of Emergency Management has also posted this notice on their website at https://www.ncdps.gov/our-organization/emergency-management/hurricane-helene.

Alternatively, you can send an email to FEMA-R4EHP@fema.dhs.gov. In the subject line of the email, please include “DR-4827-nc EHAD.” It is important to note that any comments should be sent in writing within 30 days of the date of this notice.
